Perry King
Host Perry King brings a unique perspective to Experience El Dorado. A long-time resident of Cool, King is best known for portraying Cody Allen on the 1980s hit series Riptide, and has made appearances on Melrose Place, Will & Grace, Cold Case and Spin City. More recently, he played President Blake opposite Dennis Quaid in the 2004 blockbuster The Day After Tomorrow. He says when he originally found out about Experience El Dorado, he knew he had to be involved. “This is my home,” King says. “El Dorado County just has so much to offer in terms of climate, cultural amenities, scenery and recreation opportunities. It’s a great place to live, work and play. Experience El Dorado has been a great opportunity for me to work right here, where I live.”
Cory Tapia
Gold Country personality Cory Tapia has been a radio & television host in Northern California for more than 15 years. As Experience El Dorado’s roving field correspondent, Cory brings passion – and a healthy sense of humor – to his assignments. “I love learning about the people, places and events in El Dorado County,” he says. “Plus, it gives me an opportunity to listen, instead of just talk.”
A third-generation Roseville resident, he’s been the stadium voice for the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders, and called the U.S. Olympics in 1996 and 2000. Cory’s grandfather came to the United States from Mexico during the Bracero program, and started Roseville’s first Mexican radio station to help other emigrants feel at home in their new community. He and his wife Crystal live in Roseville with their three children, Zachary, Alexa and Maya.
